What about the kids?

We often get asked about activities to keep the kids happy whilst staying at Larch Green Lodges.

Here are a few ideas for you!

On site

  • Larch Green Alpacas

Our alpacas are on site and available to book for multiple experiences. The ‘Meet & Feed’ Sessions (30 minutes) is suitable for all. You will be introduced to our alpacas, learn about them, and get a chance to feed them as well. The ‘Mini Trek’ (approx. 45 minutes) is perfect for children aged 3+. They get everything included in the Meet & Feed Session plus a chance to walk an alpaca around our paddock. (Each child must be accompanied by an adult)

The ‘Alpaca Trek’ (1 hour) is suitable for adults and children 12+. Children between 8 – 11 can take part accompanied by an adult. This experience has a longer walk around the surrounding fields and farmland. All the alpaca experiences of course come with plenty of photo/selfie opportunities! We always advise any alpaca experiences are booked in advance as they can’t be guaranteed on arrival. www.larchgreenalpacas.co.uk

  • The Hot Tub

Each Lodge has its own Hot Tub (Children must be supervised at all times)

  • The Garden

Each Lodge has its own garden so if the weather is agreeable there is space for little ones to play outdoors.

  • Walking routes

Directly from the lodges, there are a few options to enjoy a countryside walk. A full day activity could be walking to the village of Kilmacolm for lunch and then coming back to the lodge to relax in the Hot Tub. For anyone interested in history, there are WW2 gun emplacement’s also a short walk from the lodges. Please note in winter or wet weather, appropriate footwear is a must!
